Wow - that's quite a list! And extremely handy, since TheStinkUp (that's the G-rated version) went ToesUp. So which one are all the cool kids using? I just signed on at DivShare, but I'm not married to it. I lost darned near everything in the collapse, and while it's good to see/hear from you all again, re-acquiring it is going to be difficult going on impossible. In case anyone was wondering at my absence, I've been busy with my mother. She was diagnosed with ALS (a.k.a. Lou Gehrig's Disease) a year ago and, well, let's just say we don't think she'll be Trick-or-Treating this year. I'll have more time all too soon... Hey Doc, welcome back. I just noticed that DivShare has made changes to the look and limits for free accounts. The site is easier to navigate (they show the folders on the first page, rather than all the individual files). But, for some reason, every single file I have lists that it has been downloaded 20 times. Not sure where they came up with that number. I also noticed a 5GB upload storage limit and a 50 GB download limit. Sorry to hear about your mother, hope all goes well. Chloe _________________ . I do indeed remember our Dr Who discussion, Gil - well, the fact if not so much of the content. I chat with ZA all the time! I'm voice acting in the podcasts, as well as helping write the wraparound segments. Zombelina (Mrs ZA) got promoted/transferred to a higher-paying gig, so they're leaving the secret lair in Glendale, AZ, and heading back to the midwest. ZA said, after freezing his tuchis off so many winters in Ohio, he really didn't mind the heat. I think they're relocating to Indianapolis - somewhere in Indiana. You should really check out the podcast (www.frequencyoffear.com, the wraparounds are often almost like OTR themselves! In fact, at some point, he's planning on making just the wraparounds available.

I have a lot of words, many of them only 4 letters, to substitute for "something" in the sentence "ALS is really something!" It's just drained and wasted her, left her weak and frustrated and miserably unhappy. Several times, lately, she's told me that she's ready to go, that she wants to go, that she wishes she could go. How do I answer that? I don't want her to go, but I don't want her hanging around, miserable, either. She's only got use of one hand and arm, and she's losing that, she can't get into or out of bed by herself, she can't walk without human assistance, she can barely talk, she's in some degree of pain most of the time, she can't do anything - and a few days ago, we found out she has cataracts, so she can't even read for herself. I don't blame her for wanting to leave. We've got hospice coming in, now, so she should be a little more comfortable - but I just don't think it'll be enough. I honestly don't think she'll make it 'til Labor Day.

Gandalf: Thanks for the referral, I'll check 'em out! Is there a thread around here for those of us who were done such dirt by MediaMax/TheLinkUp? I feel the need to commiserate...

Doc...I had a LOT of "Dr. Who" on my MediaMax account...but, now, it's like that song "My Darling, Clementine"...you know..."you are lost and gone forever". I sure hate to see TLU go out without giving all that stuff back to us. My files have NEVER appeared there. I understood they were going to go back and give us those pre-2006 files (because of some mistake they had made in transferring...or something like that). Well...that's gone down the tubes! Tell ZA that my dad came from Columbus, Indiana. He passed on in 1973. Is the podcast taking the place of his postings? I don't know if you're familiar with the "M Radio Sig" site...but he puts up some unusual things, from time to time. Certainly not the "run of the mill" episodes. I've been so busy downloading, and burning to disk, it's hard to keep up with all that's available...let alone finding the time to listen to anything. I guess there are some people who just "download" (that's me), and others who take the time to listen . I lost a lot more than my Doctor Who stuff! There's an excellent reason why I call it The StinkUp, or more and more often, The F*ckUp. You'd think, if they were moving files, the files would still be available wherever they're moving them from - but you'd be wrong. Dang idiots... Icon_eusa_boohoo

ZA is still emailable at the same old addy. And yes, he's still posting at the original site, but he's putting a lot more energy into the podcast and very busy besides, what with the move. Most recently, he's posted the entire available run of a VERY FUNNY Canadian s-f comedy called "Canadia 2056" - 2 seasons, and it looks like it won't be renewed, more's the pity. I'll check out M Radio Sig. As for downloader vs. listener, don't you listen to your stuff while downloading more stuff?
